The Saturday Cricket

As the mist faded into bright soothing sunlight,
The spirit of cricket woke up from its deep slumber,
And the teams had adrenalin bubbling deep inside,
And stumps readied to witness the contest of bat and ball.

Thunderous batting and storming bowling followed,
Both embedded with cheerful appeals and inspiring words,
Boundaries got breached and wickets toppled in turn,
Each followed with appreciations and congratulatory banter.

Inflammable batting had placatory fielding for company,
And nerves made bats swing in rhapsody as match drew close,
With oodles of fun and tones of excitement reaped and sowed,
The bonanza of sport spirit produced winners in one and all.
