Our Independence Day Prayer

Jesus, you’ve set us free and we are free from captivity,

Our chains are gone, we now have our dignity,

In your hand our future lies, there is no uncertainty,

Now you lead us with love and grace in life of purity.

You reign over and you’ve a purpose, for which you call,

Through your compassion we will prosper, will not stumble and fall,

Through your mercies our people will not perish but will live,

Everlasting lives singing praises and lifting your name above all.

In your presence our nation will rise to give you glory,

Unshaken and unstirred with no scars remaining from the history,

You wash us clean and preserve our freedom from sin and shame,

We will spread our wings and soar like your church in intimacy.

On our independence we remember your sacrifice supreme,

That has empowered, made us eligible for your commune,

Lord, gives us your wisdom and take our heavy burdens,

So our nation will forever rejoice and from evil will remain immune.
