My Alma Mater

Behold the Indian School of Mines and my Mining Engineering Department as they stand the testing times through the last about 80 years. 80? That does sound archaic but look at the beauty of it. The buildings that once hosted the British who used to roll out engineers to run the show for the ever hungry British Industries for the raw materials like coal and iron ore, and the doyens of mineral and petroleum industries of the post independence era who have sought self dependence in basic and energy sectors, and the likes of me who went astray but found something of substance for themselves. The red stones that make the structure and elegant layout that beats many heritage sites, are at the heart of all ISMites who cherish each and every moment spent in ISM. And who always long to go back one more time and pay our tributes to the very building blocks of our careers.
